Mar 20, 2022 10:43PM ● By Two Eagles MarcusGrand Rapids, MI (March 21, 2022) - Our Hope Association will be holding An Evening of Hope Gala to celebrate 50 years of serving the community. The celebration will include a gourmet dinner, desserts made by an Our Hope graduate and presentation by Dr. Stephanie Covington, an internationally recognized leader in addiction, trauma, and recovery.
“We are grateful and honored to help serve the women and families of this community for 50 years. Addiction is a family disease, and when we can help one woman heal the ripple effects of that transformation are endless,” states Executive Director of Our Hope Association, Heather Greko. “This program restores hope, promotes healing and growth, and creates a pathway to recovery. Our Hope saves lives, restores families, and helps build healthier communities."
This night not only brings the community together to support Our Hope but will also serve to educate those attending about why addiction is different for women. Over the last twenty-five years, Dr. Stephanie Covington has provided training, consulting, and written many books on trauma-focused trainings and gender-responsive programs to assist professionals in providing effective services. She has developed an innovative, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed approach in developing caring, compassionate, and empowering therapeutic environments. During An Evening of Hope, Dr. Covington will discuss Women and Addiction, Women and Trauma, and how the two connect.
