4 Ways to Celebrate Women's Equality Day

Ninety-nine years ago today, the US ratified the 19th Ammednemant, prohibiting states and the federal government from denying citizens the right to vote on the basis of sex, nearly 80 years after the suffragist movement launched their battle to gain women the right to vote.
Here are four small ways you can celebrate this monumental victory today:
- Read about the incredible local women who have shaped our history.
- Donate to a local nonprofit that lifts up women. A few of our favorites include GROW, the Women's Resource Center, and Michigan Women Forward.
- Register to vote or update your voter's registration.
- Mark your calendar for next year's centennial celebration hosted by our friends at the Greater Grand Rapids Women's History Council.
