In that spirit, Fountain Street Church has planned a 150 Year Grand Celebration Street Party, to take place on Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 12-4PM. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. This party will be on Library Plaza, in between the Grand Rapids Public Library and Fountain Street Church, and will include a host of activities for congregants and Grand Rapidians alike. Activities will include: face painting and a Henna tattoo artist on-site, individual and family photographs, a bounce house and cornhole tournament, cotton candy and snow cones, live music from the B-Side Growlers, a mime artist, food, and a welcoming address from former Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell, who will deliver a speech entitled: “Why Grand Rapids Needs Fountain Street Church.”
