Grand Rapids Symphony Unveils its New President and CEO

The Grand Rapids Symphony’s Board of Directors has appointed a new President and CEO to succeed retiring President Peter Perez.Mary Tuuk, a longtime symphony leader, West Michigan business executive, and Grand Rapids native, will be the next GRS president.
Tuuk currently is Chief Compliance Officer/Senior Vice President, Properties and Real Estate with Meijer, Inc. She’s a classically trained musician who currently performs as a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus. A graduate of Calvin College, she currently serves on the GRS Board of Directors. She takes up duties in mid-January at a date to be announced later.
Peter Perez’ official final date will be Dec. 31, though his final date in the office will be Friday, Dec. 21 because the GRS offices are officially closed December 24 through Jan. 1.
