The Tree Hugger

The weather is heating up and so are the volunteering opportunities at Friends of Grand Rapids Parks! Whether you have an hour or a day to volunteer, you can help build the Urban Forest Tree Map as you wander through a park or down your street. The more trees that are in the map, the more valuable the information is to our community!

The Family Fun Facilitator

Looking to get more involved in the Boys and Girls Club community? As a family night volunteer, you can assist staff with preparation, implementation, and cleanup of the family night events that are held on the last Wednesday of every month.

The Watershed Wonder

Do you enjoy hanging out with kids in the great outdoors? WMEAC (West Michigan Environmental Action Council) needs your help. The Guilde

The Sallie Bender Guild operates two gift shops: The Butterworth Gift Shop at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Hospital and the Sallie Bender Guild Gift Shop at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Have you ever wanted to work in a gift shop? This is your chance! All profits from the gift shop sales help to fund important hospital projects.

The Advocate

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are needed to advocate for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Volunteers are screened, trained, and assigned to one family of children while they are wards of the Family Court system. The volunteer’s role is to investigate, facilitate, advocate, monitor and report to the court.
