Voluntary RE:Action

The Volunteer

VolunteerWhat started as a hobby developed into one of the best gifts Ellen Zainea-Spoelhof can share. Through her volunteer efforts as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher at Roosevelt Parks Ministries, Ellen helps the organization realize its mission and purpose to provide support for the members of their community. Teaching English is one of the most practical ways Roosevelt Parks Ministries helps their Hispanic neighbors.

“Volunteering is a great way to meet lots of wonderful people and it is an enriching experience in many ways,” says Ellen. “Adults love learning a subject that’s practical and can be used right away, and I enjoy the enthusiasm of the students as they progress,” she adds.
