LUV Manicures & Pedicures
When it comes to a woman’s beauty regimen, there is certainly a method to the madness. And women must be able to treat themselves to a little pampering as a means of maintaining that beauty. In terms of manicure, pedicures and overall wellness, there’s no better place to escape than LUV Manicures & Pedicures, which opened its doors June 25th of this year at 2830 Broadmoor Ave. SE in Grand Rapids. With 9 manicure tables, 16 Pedicure chairs, a waxing room and 3 state of the art drying stations, the LUV experience is sweeping the state. LUV boasts that whether it’s a splash of color to rejuvenate your look and enhance your beauty or the simple need for relaxation, you’ve found the right place, And I couldn’t agree more. Upon entering the facility, I was immediately taken aback by a fabulous wall of mini-cubicles, also known as LUVicles, where clients can house there own personal sanitized tools for their individual use each time they visit. The LUVicles are rented for $22 a month and a portion of the proceeds is donated to Breast Cancer research. As I moved beyond the wall and finished checking in at the computer station, I took a moment to take t all in. The space is clean, modern, fun and bursting at the seams with flavor in terms of its diversity in staff and polish offerings. I was already in LUV.
Next up, my incredibly talented and knowledgeable nail tech, Carmelita Young, escorted me to my booth where I experienced the Lotta Hottsa Package, which includes nail shaping, cuticle care with a deep conditioning hot oil, accompanied by a massage and finished up with hot steamy towels. This is important when it comes to building and maintaining your self image because it enables you to feel good about yourself and gives you the opportunity to be yourself in the shades you choose or the designs you request. When I asked the VP of Operation, Kelly Stecco why a good mani/pedi perfects the art of imagery, she stated: “A good mani/pedi is a reflection of your personality, the season and your mood”. “It a mirror image of your personal swagger”, she giggled. Located at one of the three busiest locations in the state of Michigan, LUV is an awesome place to perfect the art of beauty because in addition to being known for their manicure and pedicures, they also offer services like Waxing and Facials. It is a one-stop shop for all of your beauty maintenance needs. Once only offered on the East Side of the state, LUV is taking over West Michigan. They have two more locations coming soon to both the Grandville area in the fall and Knapps Corner by years end. So whether your doing the Shellac nails, OPI Gel or just feeling like rocking “Bikkini So Tini” in that gorgeous shade of Blue by Essie, visit your LUV Grand Rapids today and tell Carmelita, Women’s LifeStyle sent you.

Opera Grand Rapids
Ever wonder how the beauty unfolds at West Michigan’s only professional Opera Company? Me too. So I did a little research to determine exactly what is happening behind the scenes as they bring to life three main stage productions each season at Devos Hall. I learned that Opera Grand Rapids is West Michigan’s only resident, professional opera production company. Each season they bring to life three stunning opera performances, which are built from the ground up in Grand Rapids, utilizing breathtaking national singers, amazing sets and costumes, a regional chorus, and the music of the Grand Rapids Symphony. All of this local talent combined, works together to bring you extraordinary shows like La Travatoria coming in May of 2013 for the upcoming season. A dash of art and a pinch of imagination, make for the perfect show.
