Raise A Glass With The Griffins to Fund Easter Seals Michigan

Step aside lions, tigers and bears and make way for Corks, Pucks and Brews. This annual Easter Seals fundraiser, presented by Flagstar Bank, invites community members in from the cold and the Grand Rapids Griffins in from the ice to gather at the Goei Center and sample from over 100 varieties of wine and craft beer.

Enter a utopia of serving stations trailing along the Goei Center’s walls and receive a special logo wine or beer glass as your personal grail to the “intoxicating” adventure ahead. Meanwhile, the Griffins break from serving up snapshots to serve splashes of the nation’s best wine and craft beer.

“I just love seeing all the guests interacting with the Griffins,” Denise Durkee, Director of West Michigan Easter Seals, said about this monumental event that puts the players with the public.

Bob Kaser, Vice President of Community Relations and Broadcasting for Grand Rapids Griffins, expressed we aren’t the only ones who look forward to Corks, Pucks and Brews every year. “When our players are talking about an event weeks in advance, you know it must be something special and this one sure is,” he said.

Fundraising events like this one are the reason over one million adults, families and children benefit from the life changing and quality improving programs that Easter Seals offers. The proceeds from Corks, Pucks and Brews go directly to Easter Seals Michigan to help people in our West Michigan community.

Don’t forget to stop by the food table where Chef Joseff VanHorn of YoChef’s Catering Company has prepared a mouthwatering display of heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tidy a plate and stroll about the room, browsing at the items available for the silent and live auctions taking place toward the end of the night.

For $25, you can become part of the Wine Pull that gives participants a numbered hockey puck that relates to a bottle of wine ranging from $5 to over $100. Keep your ears open as numbers are called and hope that your number wins one of the expensive bottles. Regardless of wine price, there are no losers in the Wine Pull and everyone goes home with a prize.

While waiting in suspense for that bottle-winning number, work on filling your home wine rack by placing on-site orders with any of the vendors at a special discount. All orders arrive at Art of the Table for convenient pick up within a week.
