It's the season of love Eastern Floral has been delivering the sweet smell of love for the romantic holidays for over 60 years in West Michigan.

Approximately 250 million roses are produced for Valentine’s Day and Eastern Floral is a local leader by selling over 19,000 roses for the occasion.

The two most widely gifted rose colors for the holiday are red and pink. Red symbolizes “I love you”, passion, respect and courage. While pink represents grace, elegance and admiration.

The red rose began its symbolic history in Greek and Roman iconography, where it was tied to Aphrodite, or Venus, the goddess of love.

Roses are proven mood enhancers. Major studies, like one conducted by  world-renowned researcher Jeannette Haviland-Jones, Ph.D., at Rutgers University in 2005, prove that flowers have and immediate impact on overall happiness. 100% of the research participants reacted with a smile after receiving the gift of flowers.
