Latesha Lipscomb is the quintessential authority on all things hip, hot and happening NOW in West Michigan. When did you know what you wanted to be when you grew up?
In 3rd grade I joined a program called Spectrum for Gifted and Talented children. Very early on in life I came to believe the old adage that “all the world is a stage”. I always knew I wanted to do something that would enable me to be creative. As I grew older, I learned that the best stage for an avid reader, creative writer and slight drama queen was that of an attorney. So I painted my way through Law School, subsidizing the cost of my education as a Make-up Artist for MAC Cosmetics.
Your favorite drink?
Faygo Grape Pop; it’s my guilty pleasure.
Favorite local restaurant(s)?
Hmmmm… I love food, especially good food. Some of my favorites include Grove, Amore Italiana and Sushi Kuni (just to name a few).
Last local boutique you visited?
I love shopping local. You can find me in boutiques like LAMB, Wealthy at Charles and MoDiv.
Best place to go on a date in Grand Rapids?
GR has so many fabulous little nooks people don’t explore enough. Everything from a horse drawn carriage ride to a sunset dinner at Rose’s can be awesome. Reserve Wine bar is cool and so is catching a movie in IMAX 3-d at Celebration Cinema North. No matter what your interests, there is always something cool to do in the city.
Do you have any tattoos?
Yes, I have a tattoo on my dominant hand which reads “ Let Beauty Reign”.
What are you reading?
I read tons of magazines with Women’s LifeStyle as my ultimate favorite. I’m biased, I know.
Most cherished possession?
My son, my Tiffany’s Jewelry and my lip gloss!
Who’s someone that might be surprised to learn that you admire them?
Single moms who dare to dream and accomplish their goals under extraordinary circumstances.
What’s your most delightful guilty pleasure in Grand Rapids?
I am a complete reality TV freak, I pray to God that someone pitches a show out of our city for the country to go nuts about. Who knows, a Debarge Family Reunion just may be televised (wink wink).
What’s your favorite room in your home?
The kitchen. I love to cook and host a swanky soiree- like a fabulous dinner party.
What’s the kookiest thing in your purse right now?
A breastpump lol…
What are the words you live by?
My mantra: If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I will answer, “I am here to live out loud”.
