Event Details

Celebrate short films made by local and regional filmmakers. The Open Projector Night series screens a diverse range of films and invites audience members to participate in a question and answer panel with the filmmakers. Then, vote for your favorite film and discover the dynamic perceptions everyone has. Winners receive a number of awards, including special screenings of their work before feature films at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA).

*Interested in submitting your short film for future Open Projector Nights? Anyone is welcome to submit, applying is FREE and UICA welcomes any genre, or rating under 20 minutes in duration. Films are selected and curated into a seventy-minute program by a panel of UICA staff and volunteers.

Please consider that Open Projector Night is an ongoing film series with the intent to showcase a diverse selection of films connected to Michigan and to establish a venue to highlight local filmmakers in Grand Rapids.

Cost: $8/general. $4/members.
