GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., November 30, 2011 – Eastern Floral, West Michigan’s largest floral retailer, on Friday, December 2nd, will open their new floral boutique bokay by Eastern Floral inside the new MoDiv retail incubator downtown.
bokay by Eastern Floral broadens the floral company’s presence in the West Michigan community and brings urban-chic style to the floral shopping experience.
In 2009 the company moved its head-quarters from their 2836 Broadmoor and 28th Street store to the Goei Center, the business incubator developed by Eastern Floral’s chief executive officer Bing Goei. The renovated facility on the city’s Southwest Side houses the International Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
“MoDiv is a wonderful spot for retail entrepreneurs,” said Jason Goei, President of Eastern Floral. “This location, and our new floral boutique concept, reinforces our company’s commitment to business development, entrepreneurship and business collaboration,” said Mr. Goei.
Unlike their other full-service stores, bokay by Eastern Floral merchandise will be designed and selected to meet the needs, and cater to the tastes, of downtown residents, workers, shoppers and visitors.
“We want our customers to see alternative floral designs, an urban-chic feel,” said Antoinette Kiewiet, Vice President of Design and Creativity for Eastern Floral. “The store will emphasize convenient, sophisticated, ready-to-go floral bouquets that go beyond the traditional cash-and-carry style,” says Mrs. Kiewiet.
“Many consumers in this particular market have been wanting a place such as this, but it just hasn’t been available,” said Mr. Goei. “By joining with the shops at MoDiv, Eastern Floral is able to bring convenient flower shopping to the heart of Grand Rapids,” Mr. Goei explained.
bokay by Eastern Floral will be located in the Monroe Center Ave entrance lobby of MoDiv, adjacent to the Wolverine Company Store. Hours for bokay by Eastern Floral and the shops at MoDiv are Mon., Wed., Fri., and Sat., 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tue. and Thu.
