Chili Pros Compete at 8th Annual Chilly, Blues, & Brews East

Grand Rapids, MI - On Saturday, March 21, 40 teams of professional and amateur cooks will compete for the best chili in Grand Rapids during the 8th Annual Chilly, Blues, and Brews East, presented by The B.O.B., WLAV FM, and Thunder 107.3, and The Q 94.5. This free, family-friendly event will include a chili cook-off, hot pepper eating contest, live blues music, Michigan craft beer, and more. 

Local craft brews take the spotlight during the chili cook-off, as each entry must include a Michigan craft beer in the recipe. The first-place winner takes home $1,000 in prizes and the coveted 2020 Golden Ladle Trophy. Teams can also win various categories such as Best Vegetarian/Vegan Chili, Spiciest Chili, and Best Dressed Team. The person who can handle eating the hottest peppers during The B.O.B.’s hot pepper eating contest will also take home a $100 Gilmore Collection gift card. 

Chilly, Blues and Brews East Schedule Highlights 

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. Live bands and DJs perform at H.O.M.E., B.O.B.’s Brewery, Bobarino’s 

Pizzeria, and Eve Nightclub 

1:00 p.m. Chili tasting (open to the public) 

3:30 p.m. Hot chili pepper eating contest (must be 18 years and older to participate) 

4:00 p.m. Chili cook-off winners announced in H.O.M.E.
