Chocolates by Grimaldi
What better way to give thanks this November than a decadent treat from West Michigan’s favorite chocolate shop, Chocolates by Grimaldi? Among the shelves of sweet and salty snacks, you’ll find this season’s best selling product: hand-dipped caramel apples.
Plucked from local orchards, all of the apples used for these delicious fall desserts are crisp, fresh and juicy. They are carefully dipped in a vat of caramel, made on-site following a special recipe created by the shop’s owner, Molli Laham. Using less than five ingredients, Laham’s caramel is cooked in a way that prevents its from sticking to your teeth, while still remaining gooey and buttery.
After they are left to cool, the caramel-coated apples are then dunked into a slow churning bath of melted milk or dark chocolate. All of the caramel apples are customizable, offering a variety of toppings, including chopped nuts and Himalayan pink sea salt; however, the most popular topping is simply a criss-cross drizzle of dark or milk chocolate.
